Baylor College of Medicine - Verna and Marrs McLean Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
The Verna and Marrs McLean Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is the ideal fit for inquisitive graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are stimulated by curiosity and intellectual diversity—just as our faculty are.
Thanks to our extensive resources, our students are at the forefront of scientific discovery—from structure at the molecular level to systems biology and transgenics. We offer well-equipped laboratories with modern instrumentation, such as ultracentrifuges, scintillation counters, spectrophotometers, chromatographic systems, cold rooms, mammalian cell culture facilities, and fluorescence microscopes. The department also has highly specialized facilities for electron cryomicroscopy, X-ray crystallography, laser spectroscopy, photobiochemistry, digital imaging, large-scale microbial fermentation, microarray analysis and transgenic mouse production.
