Asian Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Association (ANNA)

Asian Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Association (ANNA) is the blending of eminent scholars in Asia engaged in research and education of all aspects of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Nobel Laureate Professor Ahmed Zewail at Cal Tech becomes the Honorary President of ANNA, who flags off ANNA at Academia Sinica in Taiwan.

Growing economy of China and India positions science and technology in Asia at the heart of an explosion, which is discernible from a considerable increase in the number of research institutions, dedicated researchers, and quality research articles. It is now high time to establish and tighten transnational cooperation among researchers in Asia for well-organized growth of science and technology. In association with a group of researchers from around Asia and by taking suggestions by Professor Hiroshi Masuhara at Nara Institute of Science and Technology in Japan and Professor Jau Tang at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, ANNA is put together at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Shikoku Center in Japan by Dr. Vasudevanpillai Biju, who is the present Chairman of ANNA. The mission of ANNA is to keep pace with the growing needs for cooperative interactions in the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology areas among researchers in Asian countries. While working outside the scaffolds of public and private organizations, ANNA will ensure public service on all research and education matters within the scope of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. It provides a common platform for the exchange of ideas among scientists, technologists, teachers, and students. Members of ANNA are committed to improve global life through the integration of emerging knowledge in the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology areas with life innovation technologies in Asian Countries.

ANNA is a nonprofit association registered in AIST, an Organization under the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan. ANNA is composed of direct board members from Asian Countries, Academy of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ANN), and National Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Associations (ANNA Chapters) of People's Republic of China, India, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. More Asian countries are to join ANNA in the coming days.
