From Crisis to Prosperity: Green Growth Cycle
Abstract:
Throughout history, inspirational new technologies like the steam engine or the internet have generated long cycles of prosperity. The current financial crisis could kick-start a new cycle of green prosperity, argues a study from Allianz Global Investors.
The areas of nanotechnology and biotechnology could also play major roles in the new cycle by making many established industries more environmentally friendly. As interdisciplinary technologies that find applications in environmental, electrical and medical engineering fields, their significance is likely to increase.
