Abstract:
Iran's Nanotechnology Initiative Council plans to hold the country's first National Congress on Standard and Safety in Nanotechnology with university professors and experts in attendance.
The congress will be held in cooperation with the Institute of Standard and Industrial Research of Iran on June 25, 2012.
University professors, experts and active companies in the field of nanotechnology as well as university students will participate in the event which is due to be held in Research Institute of Polymer and Petrochemistry.
The scopes of poster articles in this congress are as follows:
- Standard methods to measure the properties and characteristics of nanomaterials and nanoproducts;
- Safety of nanomaterials in working places and environment;
- Ethics in nanotechnology;
- Risk evaluation;
- Nanometrology.
Among the programs that will be held parallel to the congress, mention can be made of the organization of three specialized workshops in the field of standard and safety.
The titles of the educational workshops that are due to be held during the congress are as follows:
- Introduction to the methods and steps to compile standards at factory, national, and international levels;
- Introduction to the stages to acquire certificates from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education for nanotechnology-based products;
- Safety and health in nanotechnology.
