Registration Opens for NNI Webinar on Nanometrology for Continuous and Automated Manufacturing
The National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) is organizing a series of National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) webinars on nanometrology, metrological challenges, and recent advances in three topical areas: food, agriculture, and the environment; nanoscale medical and pharmaceutical products; and nanoparticles in electronics. Registration is open for the fifth webinar in the series, "Nanometrology for Continuous and Automated Manufacturing." See https://nnco-nano.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_OkF-yHaySUymJNSdBlpbWQ#/registration The October 4, 2024, webinar will describe challenges related to in-line and at-line measurements in continuous systems and measurements made in automated systems. The following topics will be discussed:
- In-line characterization of nanomaterials, such as boron nitride nanotubes during plasma synthesis;
- Automation and characterization of heterostructures from two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials with the QPress; and
- Development and challenges of automation and characterization involving "self-driving" fluidic systems for smart manufacturing of nanomaterials.
The speakers for the webinar include:
- Yevgeny Raitses, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory;
- Suji Park, Center for Functional Nanomaterials at Brookhaven National Laboratory; and
- Milad Abolhasani, North Carolina State University.
The sixth webinar in the series, "Nanometrology Involving Big Data, AI, and Modeling," will be held November 1, 2024. Recordings of the webinars from earlier this year can be found on NNI's website. See https://www.nano.gov/NanometrologyWebinarSeries
