New deal in works at arsenal
Abstract:
The Watervliet Arsenal will continue remaking itself today, as an engineering firm that specializes in building microchip plants will unveil plans to start a $6 million job-training program there. The U.S. Army will contribute $1.4 million to renovate the building where M+W Zander will work, and UAlbany's Albany NanoTech initiative will work closely with the effort. While casual observers might wonder where, exactly, these nanotechnology jobs are going to come from that M+W Zander will train people for, Frank had no worries that projects are on the horizon -- either in the Capital Region or elsewhere in the state.
