'Deus Ex' gives players freedom to choose
Abstract:
Alex's world of the latter 21st century is not a nice one. Apparently, the first game's hero triggered a global collapse at the end of "Deus Ex," plunging Earth into a new dark age from which it is only beginning to recover. Two factions, the WTO and the mysterious Order Church, vie for global dominance. Nanotechnology and body modification are rampant, the gap between rich and poor is enormous, awful pop singers are revered worldwide and some terrorist group just blew up Chicago.
