Donations help fuel USC atomic research
Abstract:
The University of South Carolina announced Tuesday it has enough private-sector donations to trigger release of $500,000 in lottery profits for atomic material research on its Columbia campus. A spokeswoman for the panel said USC’s “nanotechnology project” is eligible to receive up to $4 million from the state because the university has pledged to find an identical amount from donors.
