Chicago companies remain believers
Abstract:
Local universities and start-up businesses are rushing to facilitate a bursting new technology that promises to remake industries from plastics to homeland security, but profits are still in the future. More than 15 companies within a 250-mile radius of Chicago are developing nanotech products and research is moving ahead at Northwestern University, University of Illinois, Argonne National Laboratory, University of Chicago, Northern Illinois University and a variety of other Midwest schools.
