Home > Press > SpecialChem to organize an e-Training on Latest Developments and Trends in Nanoplastics & Polymer Nanocomposites - Presenter: Dr. Don Rosato
Abstract:
Not since the discovery of the silicon chip has there been this much excitement in the field of physics and material sciences. Innumerable universities have established nanocenters with many receiving industrial funding/sponsorship with a large number of these spawning nanomaterial-related entrepreneurial businesses spun out as the fruits of academic research. Private industry and governments around the world are investing billions of dollars, rushing to exploit the small world that has been defined as materials under 100 nanometers in size; a nanometer being just one billionth of a meter.
Jump on board with Don Rosato for the nanoplastics development tour of the year!
Learn, explore, and develop knowledge over the full gamut of ‘need-to-know' nanoplastics technologies such as (1) nanoclays (processes, properties, compatibilizers), (2) carbon nanotubes (bulk single walled carbon nanotubes, unique double wall carbon nanotubes, functionalized carbon nanotubes), (3) polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) materials (POSS hybrid nanocomposites, POSS property enhancement, POSS applications and application development), (4) nanocomposite additives (inorganic nanotubes, barium sulfate nanofiller, nano-silica nucleating agent), and (5) nanotech engineered plastics (POSS hybrid inorganic-organic masterbatch, nano-enhanced CBT resin, nanotech conductive plastics, carbon nanotube-thermoplastic predispersions, polyimide-carbon nanotube nanocomposites). Furthermore, fully evaluate emerging plastic nanocomposites in the areas of (6) self-assembled nanocomposite conductive polymers (stretchable conductive metal rubber, self assembled regioregular conductive polymers), (7) nanocoatings (abrasion resistant nanocomposite coatings, antifogging nanolayer coating, nanotech plastic to aluminum bonding), (8) biomimetric nanocomposite (nacre nanocomposite, nanotube-PMMA dry super adhesive), and (9) nanotools (world's highest resolution S/TEM, microscope, virtual nanolab).
PS: At the conclusion of the 60-minute segment, there will be an open question and answer period, where the attendees can ask their questions to Don Rosato!
