Focus on research, Barnala urges universities
Abstract:
Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on Wednesday underlined the significance of pursuing higher education and the need for educational institutions to accord priority to research activities.
"Universities should be dynamic and application oriented," the Governor told the second convocation of SRM University in Kattankulathur.
The university received grants to the tune of Rs.2.1 crore from the Central Government for research in the fields of nanotechnology and biotechnology, Mr. Sathyanarayanan said.
