Abstract:
"Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology" journal has been accepted for indexing by Thomson Reuters. Following its acceptance by Scopus in 2013, this journal will soon be indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Current Contents/Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences (CC/PC&ES), beginning with volume 1(1) 2011.

Open Access journal Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology breaking ground in the nano field

Rijeka, Croatia | Posted on January 20th, 2014

Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, currently in its 4th volume, is a peer-reviewed open access journal pertaining to InTech's portfolio of openly accessible STM journals. Since its launch in 2011, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology featured articles by some of the most authoritative sources among international science communities, focusing mainly on new insights, original research findings and case studies of innovative application within the dynamic nano field.

Pushing towards opening new research perspectives has been the primary goal of the journal's Editorial Board and Publishing team. The efforts have resulted in the inclusion of this journal in two of the most prestigious indexing databases worldwide, Scopus and Thomson Reuters.

Numerous submitng authors and collaborators have contributed to this great success, including Editorial Board members C.N.R. Rao, Fellow of the Royal Society, National Research Professor, Linus Pauling Research Professor and President of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre Advanced Scientific Research (Bangalore), and Stephen J. Pearton from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida; and authors Meyya Meyyappan, NASA Ames Research Center, Sue A. Carter, Department of Physics (University of California), and Dhirendra Bahadur (Indian Institute of
Technology, Bombay).

The scope of the journal has been fully endorsed by its Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Paola Prete from the Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems, National Research Council (Italy), that stated the following in regard to the journal's mission, "The primary goal of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology is to publish research manuscripts that include cutng-edge studies on nanoscale science and technology, bringing together the science and applications of nanoscale and nanostructured materials with an emphasis on the synthesis, processing, characterization, and applications. In the current jungle of journals on the nanoscale field, our first target is to publish high quality papers which really bring an added value to the research in this field; through a rigorous peer review process, we preserved the quality of the articles at the expense of the quantity".

Expecting further growth in citation and readership, the latter reaching +30,000 online readers in 2013, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology has set fertile ground to become one of the most read open access journal in nanoscience.
