Iran Ranks 8th in World in Publication of Nanotechnology Articles

Tehran, Iran | Posted on March 17th, 2014

China, the United States and India ranked first to third among the countries that produced the highest number of nanotechnology articles in 2013.

Based on the statistics obtained from the ISI Web of Science Database late January 2014, the United States and China are still two giant nanoscience-producers and they have published almost half of nanotechnology articles in 2013.

India has had the biggest growth among the top 20 countries, and by ascending three levels higher of where it was in 2012, it ranked third in 2013. South Korea showed one level upgrade and it ranked fourth in the world. Germany, Japan and France are the next countries in this ranking. Iran is still in the eighth position although it showed an increase of 13.4% in comparison with the previous year.

There are five Asian countries among the top 10 countries which indicates that nanotechnology research and development are one of the priorities of the Asian states.
