Abstract:
Secretary General of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) Saeed Sarkar said Iran ranks 1st among Islamic nations and 7th in the world in scientific production and nanotechnology.
Sarkar said Iran produced over 4 percent of all articles in the world and 42 percent of scientific productions in the Muslim world.
He also said the INIC has a specific plan to develop nanotechnology in the country, adding that 148 companies are active in the nano market where their sales totaled rls790 billion in the last Iranian year (March 2013-March 2014).
Sarkar said the figure is expected to hit rls1,630 billion by the end of the current Iranian year (ending on March 20).
Meanwhile, he said Iranian experts have manufactured an anti-cancer medicine at a cost of around $12 for each milliliter, while the country imported the drug at a price of $700 for each mm in the past, adding that nanotechnology products are highly beneficial for investors, while the country also needs growing investment in the field.
